The theoretical session of the conference was held on March 31 in online format and was available not only to the participants, but also to the numerous listeners in different countries of the world.
The Vice-Rector for Research and Development, Ph.D. Svetlana Lavrova and the Head of the Department of Ballet Studies, Cand. Sc. Natalia Zozulina. The conference was moderated by Professor of the Department of Ballet Studies, Ph.D. Maria Potolokova.
In total, sixteen reports were made by representatives of the scientific community, the choreographic and performing spheres of Russia, as well as colleagues from Spain and Italy.
The remote format of communication allowed specialists from around the world not only to hear reports, but also to take an active part in scientific discussions on topical issues of ballet art.
Cultural programme within the framework of the Conference (April 1):● Public-talk for students and teachers of the Vaganova Ballet Academy about the role of the creator, spectator, critic, philanthropist, producer, state in the creation of a work of art. Mixed online/offline format, Small Hall of the Catherine's Assembly.
● Guided tour of the Catherine's Assembly.
● The performance of the "Diaghilev's Petersburg Season" project with participating of the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky stars, the dancers of the L. Yakobson Ballet Theater and “Zazerkalie" (Mirror-world) musical theater, as well as students of the Vaganova Ballet Academy. The world premiere of "The Wrong Don Quixote" miniature choreographed by Ivan Vasiliev.
